Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE Updates: Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Friday, 4 August, requested the Chair in the Lok Sabha to permit Rahul Gandhi to join the proceedings of the House at the earliest. This came minutes after the Supreme Court stayed Gandhi’s conviction in the ‘Modi’ surname defamation case.
Meanwhile, both Houses have been adjourned for the day. Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal demanded a discussion on alleged atrocities against women in Rajasthan before the House was adjourned.
Floor leaders of the INDIA grouping held a meeting in the office of Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday to decide on the strategy in both Houses.
