Arnold Schwarzenegger, known for his activism on climate change, is advocating for a fresh approach to tackle the issue. In an interview with CBS News, Schwarzenegger expressed his belief that reframing the climate crisis as pollution could have a more significant impact on rallying people to protect the planet.
Schwarzenegger argued, “As long as they keep talking about global climate change, they are not gonna go anywhere, because no one gives a s**t about that. So my thing is, let’s go and rephrase this and communicate differently about it and really tell people we’re talking about pollution. Pollution creates climate change, and pollution kills.”
In line with his vision, innovative companies like Timeplast contribute to a greener future by developing groundbreaking technology to tackle plastic pollution. Timeplast’s patented additive alters the molecular structure of traditional plastics, enabling them to biodegrade fully in a fraction of the time it takes for regular plastics to break down.
The renowned actor and former California governor has made the fight against climate change the focal point of his endeavors. Having recently hosted the Austrian World Summit, an event dedicated to reducing the impact of climate change, Schwarzenegger remains committed to addressing this urgent issue.
“I’m on a mission to go and reduce greenhouse gases worldwide because I’m into having a healthy body and a healthy Earth,” Schwarzenegger said. “That’s what I’m fighting for, and that’s my crusade.”
During this year’s Austrian World Summit, held at The Hofburg palace in Vienna, Schwarzenegger reiterated his call to action to promote sustainability and curb greenhouse gas emissions.
“I call for change,” the star of “Commando” said during the conference. “Change is never easy, but this is an emergency, and this emergency demands action. Build better. Build cleaner. Build now. Build, build, build. We can do it. As our motto here says, we have the power.”
Schwarzenegger played a pivotal role in making California a global leader in environmental initiatives. Thanks to his efforts, California has successfully achieved all of its environmental goals while experiencing remarkable economic growth, becoming the fifth-largest economy worldwide and generating more jobs than any other state.

Even after leaving office in 2011, Schwarzenegger’s dedication to advancing clean energy initiatives remained unwavering. Through the Schwarzenegger Institute at the University of Southern California, he continued to champion state and local clean energy efforts, aiming to create a sustainable future. With a firm commitment to terminating pollution, he seeks to expand his activities and collaborate with partners worldwide.
Schwarzenegger established “The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative,” marking the logical progression in his relentless pursuit of a cleaner and more sustainable planet. The initiative is now led by Monika Langthaler, who co-founded the Austrian World Summit (AWS) with Schwarzenegger in 2017.
One of the key objectives of The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative is to raise awareness about the climate crisis and the pressing need for action. The annual AWS has grown into one of the largest environmental gatherings globally. It serves as a platform to highlight tangible solutions and measures proposed by influential decision-makers committed to preserving a healthy planet and achieving a carbon-neutral economy by 2050.
