Congress: Congress has destroyed state economy in 2 months: BJP | India News

NEW DELHI: BJP on Monday accused the Congress government in Karnataka of misgovernance, lies and corruption.
At a press conference, Union minister and Rajya Sabha MP from the state Rajeev Chandrasekhar said Congress within a span of two months destroyed the state economy, neglected the farmers of the state, and engaged in rampant corruption.
“The Karnataka Congress government can be characterised as the MNC government – standing for misgovernance, no development, and corruption. Over the past two months, more than 50 farmers have died by suicide and 16 districts are grappling with drought-like conditions, and 85 talukas are experiencing significant rainfall deficits,” he said.
He said amidst these challenging conditions faced by farmers, Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar, without any consultation or an all-party meeting, made the decision to release 10 TMC of Cauvery water. “This move can be clearly attributed to pressure from their senior ‘Ghamandiya Gathbandhan’ coalition partner, DMK,” he added.
“The Congress leaders have an illustrious track record of responding to pressures by DMK. If we delve into history, even during the 2G scam, it was the same issue. Today farmers are paying with their lives for this type of Congress politics, ” he added.
He accused Congress leaders of failing to understand farmers’ problems and how they are all embroiled in corruption allegations.
