Ed Sheeran visits Tampa high school ahead of local shows


Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran visited George S. Middleton High School in Tampa on Friday.

A video posted on the school marching band’s Instagram account Friday evening showed him walking into the band room.

“We love when very special guests visit the our band room! Welcome to the mighty land of the tigers, Ed Sheeran,” the post read.

The marching band’s social media post also showed Sheeran posing for photos and taking selfies with students and staff.

In other posts, Sheeran is seen singing and playing his guitar for students and staff.

The George S. Middleton SGA also posted about the visit on its Instagram account, saying: “Today we had a very special musical guest come to Middleton, visiting our band! Thank you Ed Sheeran for coming and spreading words of wisdom with song! Tiger Pride, Tiger Proud!!”

Sheeran is in Tampa Bay for two concerts: an intimate show at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on Friday and a performance at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday.
