Leader of Opposition, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury suspended from Lok Sabha for ‘unruly’ conduct | News

The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was suspended from the Lok Sabha due to his ‘unruly’ conduct. The suspension was proposed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and was approved by the Lok Sabha. Chowdhury’s suspension will continue until the Privileges Committee completes its report on the issue. Pralhad Joshi alleged that Chowdhury has been engaging in repeated misconduct within the house. While moving the resolution, he said, ‘that this House having taken the serious note of the gross, deliberate and repeated misconduct of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in utter disregard to the House and authority of Chair resolve that the matter of his misconduct be referred to Committee of Privileges of the House for the further investigation and report to the House and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury be suspended from the service of the House till the Committee submits its report.’
